BACKSTAGE COSTUME RENTALS

Our company only rents for productions, we do not offer halloween/event rental at this time

PRODUCTION RENTAL RATES

Full rental list price

Runs lasting longer than 3 weeks will be charged 50% of full rental list price each additional week 

 

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Backstage will clean all costumes upon return.  Renter will not clean costumes.

A fee of 15% of the total rental price will be assessed for cleaning and maintenance of all items.

 

REPAIRS 

All items are expected to be in good condition upon return.  Any alteration made to a costume piece is expected to be removed before it’s return.  If repair is needed for a costume piece it is expected that measures be taken to ensure the piece incurs no further damage.  With this in mind we do ask that care be taken when repairing and article of clothing.  

• Please use matching thread and stitch lengths of 3+

• Do not use pins to alter a piece 

• Never use tape or glue on any garment

DISTRESS

Fees will be imposed for all distressed costumes. These fees will be determined on a per-item basis and can be up to 100% of the original item’s cost price. If irreparable distress is present, a replacement fee will be applied. Distress is defined as, but not limited to:

• Any costume with exposure to smoke of any kind

• Any tear in the garment longer than 1/2" or any tear against the grain of the fabric

• Any garment that is stained or requires additional cleaning procedures

• Missing buttons or closures

• Any item with adhesives or adhesive residue

• Any distress due to pinning of the garment

Any fees assessed for distress are due upon demand and must be paid within 30 days of billing.

 

LATE FEES

Items not returned by the contracted return date is subject to a late fee.  A late fee of $30 will be added each week the items are late up to 4 weeks.  Permanent suspension of rental privileges may result for any account that has items not returned after the 4-week late period. 

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

-Credit Card, Cash or Check (Backstage Performing Arts Utah)

Payment for rental is due when items are picked up.  No refunds will be issued for items not used after they have been checked-out from Backstage Performing Arts.
